Dirt

To put it mildly, I’m obsessed with FGL’s “Dirt”. It fills my heart with pride for this life.

But some say farmers don’t take care of their dirt. Yes, we run tractors over it. We fertilize it. We might till it. Most of us plant GMOs in it. Why? That’s what’s best for it. And we should know.

Because our dirt is our everything. It was earned by the hard work of the generations before us. We grew up playing in it. We make our living off of it. And someday, it will belong to our kids. It’s not just dirt, it’s our legacy.
