Year 2: Time for Awesome

THE WORLD NEEDS YOU TO STOP BEING BORING.

I took my business full-time, exactly one year ago today, exactly one day after I graduated from the University of Illinois. I didn’t want down time. I wanted to get going and was acutely aware that it was 100% my responsibility to provide for myself. I knew everything I got or didn’t get was a result of my own effort. It was exciting, freeing, and scary.

I took every bit of work that came my way: portrait sessions, weddings, design work, canvas and print sales, stock imagery requests, speaking engagements, agricultural shoots. It was “going well”. I was my own boss. I was making money.

But…I wasn’t happy, professionally. I was a slave to my email inbox. My daily task lists were created based on who needed what from me and when. My life’s purpose had been forgotten. My creativity was suffocating. And I didn’t even know it.

WHAT WILL YOU CREATE TO MAKE THE WORLD AWESOME?

This realization hit me sometime this winter, through a series of small events, workshops and times of self-reflection. I needed to say “no” to busy and “yes” to living, to purpose, to life. So here we go, self-employment, year #2. You can expect:

  1. AGvocacy work – helping you advocate for agriculture through images, how-to blogs and speaking engagements

  2. New artwork – created to bring your favorite way of life into your home

  3. Featured shoots - curated images from custom shoots

  4. Newsletters – delivered to your inbox, full of everything creative, inspirational and practical

THIS IS YOUR TIME. THIS IS MY TIME. THIS IS OUR TIME.

Let’s do this. Stay in touch with my weekly newsletter (sign up on the right) and/or drop me a note on my contact page!
