Facebook Name Change from Keeping it Real: Through the Lens of a Farm Girl to Grand Vale Co
Hey everyone ☺️. Below are the series of posts I used to announce my name change on facebook from Keeping it Real: Through the Lens of a Farm Girl to Grand Vale Co. I just wanted a more permanent place for those posts to live, to avoid any confusion for those searching around for it!

1/5 | Hey y’all! The last 2.5 years have brought a whole lotta change around here – taking this page from a pet project to a full-time gig, exchanging Erin Ehnle for Erin Brown, and moving a couple of states away from my (very) firmly planted roots. Change is hard for my sentimental soul, but it’s all part of growing up (or so I’m told!). So…it’s time for Keeping it Real: Through the Lens of a Farm Girl to accept her new, grown up title of Grand Vale Co. – to match the business born from it.So, the name will change, but the content will stay the same! You’ll still get:
- blogs of the most beautiful people and places in ag
- ag advocacy images when I get worked up
- artwork sneak peaks for your farmhouse
- bits of inspiration along the way!

2/5 | Where it all started – I stood there in my dEliA*s jeans (a teenaged Erin trademark) with my late-90s, refurbished camera I’d bought a year and a half earlier with money earned chisel plowing, in the only place I’d ever known as home, as my sister squatted in the snow to take my very first Keeping it Real: Through the Lens of a Farm Girl profile photo. My, how things have changed. Those jeans are now long gone and I just shipped that camera off to a high-school aged girl wanting to get her own start in ag photography. Home is now North Dakota with my husband, and I get the opportunity to travel across the nation taking photos of things besides my family’s barn. There’s been a lot of growing up in the past 5 or so years (how has it been that long?!) and now it’s time for a little more. Starting Thursday (April 6), this page will be named after that very farm I grew up on and the business name I work under, Grand Vale Co.

3/5 | In case you missed it, Keeping it Real: Through the Lens of a Farm Girl is (doing her best to) embrace change, put on her big girl pants and change her name to Grand Vale Co. – to match the business born from this page. A little bass ackwards, I know, but I couldn’t name my grown-up photography/design/social media company “Through the Lens of a Farm Girl”! BUT long story short, the only thing changing around here is the name – all content will be the same pretties you’re used to! Yay!

My mama loves to tell the story of when toddler Erin reached the whiny stage of her life. Her favorite phrase? But whyyyyyyyy maaawm? Ever since, knowing the “why” to every task has been pretty important to me, though the way I ask has improved considerably! ;) So, I of course feel the need to explain the “why” behind changing the name from Keeping it Real: Through the Lens of a Farm Girl to Grand Vale Co. The only reason I can let go of “Lens of a Farm Girl” is because I can replace it with something even closer to my heart.

Grand Vale Co. is named after my family’s farm – Grand Vale Farm. It’s the place that made me the person I am today, and I so treasure all that was molded into us there. It makes my farm-girl heart so, so, SO happy to name my business (and now my facebook page!) after the place that has such a rich legacy of love and hard work and family and farm – all the things I strive to capture in the ag community and in my work. <3
